250$ (or 50$ in FSU) paid upon registration to BRI Plus. Your deposit from your original Birthright program will remain in custody of Taglit-Birthright Israel until the end of your BRI Plus program.

If you register for Birthright Israel Plus, the program fee covers the cost of flight extension, accommodations and most meals for those 4-7 program days.

Spend time exploring your interests with participants from around the world.

After 10 days of cultural exploration in Israel, your Birthright Israel trip will end. While everyone else is headed back home, you’ll get a short period to rest up and explore a bit on your own before starting a new 4-7-day experience focusing on a particular area of interest (no prior knowledge or experience needed).

Birthright Israel Plus offers a slightly more relaxed schedule, giving you the opportunity to curate your own experience with the support network of Birthright Israel’s experienced and highly knowledgeable staff. Birthright Israel Plus groups are made up of only 20-25 participants so you’ll be part of a more intimate community.

How does it work?

Once you are assigned to your flight for your Birthright Israel trip, you can register to be a part of any Birthright Israel Plus program that suits your passions. Fill out our short registration form, have a personal follow-up (call), and then we will submit your flight extension request for processing.

BRI Plus FAQ’s

Am I eligible for an extension program?

Current participants as well as recent Taglit-Birthright Israel alumni (from the past year) are eligible to be a part of the Birthright Israel Plus extension program.

How do I apply?

All you need to do is click here after you’re assigned on your Taglit-Birthright Israel trip and use your Birthright Israel login credentials to sign in. Once you complete the short registration, you’ll be contacted for a personal interview. After the interview, your flight extension request will be submitted for processing.

How much does the program cost?

250$ (or 50$ in FSU) paid upon registration to BRI Plus. Your deposit from your original Birthright program will remain in custody of Taglit-Birthright Israel until the end of your BRI Plus program. For cancelation policy please scroll down.

What does the program fee cover?

If you register for Birthright Israel Plus, the program fee covers the cost of flight extension, accommodations and most meals for those 4-7 program days.

Can I choose my return flight date?

Yes you can, to a certainly extent J

You can fly back home after your BRI Plus program ends or stay longer in Israel on your own!

Important note: As a general rule, your ticket can be extended for up to 90 days from the time you leave your home country. Because of limited seat availability and fare differences, we can’t guarantee you’ll get your preferred return flight date. In some (extremely rare) cases we may not be able to extend your ticket at all.

What languages are offered by Plus?

Currently, Plus programs are running in English during all sessions, and in Spanish and Russian during selected sessions. Therefore, you will need an acceptable level of the relevant language in order to join.

I have a break in-between my trip and my Plus program

Most participants will have a few days break in between their Taglit-Birthright Israel trip and BRI Plus to enjoy and explore Israel on their own. Participants are responsible for their own accommodations and plans for this time; however, we can however send some helpful links and information in terms of finding places to stay.

My Taglit-Birthright Israel trip ends the same day as my Plus program begins

Unfortunately, we do not allow participants whose program ends the same morning to join a Birthright Israel Plus program. Even if the timing works, participants need some time to rest and regroup after their trip. Participants need a minimum of a night’s sleep after the Birthright Israel group departs.

Can I leave my Taglit-Birthright Israel trip a day early to join?

By accepting the gift of Birthright Israel, you agree and accept to be present for all activities. Similarly, Birthright Israel Plus participants cannot join or leave a program early, it is mandatory to attend all programming. If you missed a day, you would be missing a significant part of the experience.

Will I be with the same group of people as my Birthright Israel trip?

Our goal is to offer you the opportunity to meet new individuals and make new friends. There will be a variety of people coming from different cities, countries, and trips that all share similar interests.

What if I want to change my flight again, after it has been extended?

Birthright Israel Plus only completes one flight change per registrant. If you desire to change your flight date once again, you must cover the cost yourself. Check here for more information.

Can I extend my flight further than the end of the program?

You can extend your flight extension for up to 90 days from the time you leave your home country.

Will there be free time on the program?

On Birthright Israel Plus, free time occurs after official programming ends each day. Participants will be allowed to explore as they see fit and are responsible for their own well-being. Additionally, there is usually a break in between trips and Birthright Israel Plus programs so that participants may experience Israel on their own time.

Will a security guard or other security personnel accompany the program?

Your safety and security are our top priority. Whenever deemed necessary the Birthright Israel Plus program will be accompanied by a trained security guard and medic. Additional security may be provided if needed.

What if I cancel my participation on Birthright Israel Plus?

If the participant cancels participation:

  1. More than 90 days prior to the commencement of the Extension program – full refund.
  2. 8-90 days prior to the commencement of the Extension program: if the return flight has not yet been changed to accommodate participation, full refund. If the return flight has already been changed to accommodate participation – no refund.
  3. 7 days or fewer prior to the commencement of the Extension program, as well as “no show” – no refund, and BRI shall be entitled to cancel return flight.

Notwithstanding the above, if the participant cancels due to medical reasons confirmed in writing by a physician, BRI will refund the fee/deposit.  Cancellation due to other events beyond the participant’s control will be examined by BRI, which will make a decision on the basis of its assessment of the circumstances.

If BRI cancels the program or your participation in the program, the following will apply:

  1. If cancellation is due to inability to find flights for the relevant dates – complete refund.
  2. If cancellation is due to BRI’s decision not to conduct the Extension Program you chose, and you do not wish to join an alternative program offered – complete refund.
  3. If participant is removed from his/her Taglit Birthright Israel program, or leaves it no his/her own accord, participation in the Extension Program will be cancelled and the fee/deposit will not be refunded. Furthermore, if participant leaves the Extension Program without permission, BRI shall be entitled to cancel his or her return flight.
