Domestic Travel All participants are responsible for their own domestic travel to the departure airport for the group flight.  You MUST arrive AT LEAST 4 hours prior to the time of your group flight. Amazing Israel and Birthright Israel are not responsible for any cancellations or changes in the group flight schedule. We strongly advise all participants to purchase comprehensive travel insurance that will cover changes to their domestic flights, delays or cancellations of their international flights (in the case of international flight delays, cancellations, re-routing, etc.) Please note that any costs incurred due to International flight changes is the sole responsibility of the participant.

Israel Extensions:

Birthright Israel Plus (BRI+) Extension Programs- The first option for extending your trip in Israel is by doing a 4- or 5- day Birthright Israel Plus (BRI+) extension opportunity, focused on your particular passions (no prior knowledge or experience necessary). Birthright Israel Plus programs allow you to get an in-depth understanding of Israeli society and culture, while meeting participants from around the world.  http://birthrightisraelplus.com

If you register for BRI+, the program fee covers the cost of flight extension, accommodations and most meals for the 4-5 program days. So you won’t need to pay for your flight extension! Additionally, for the winter season, Birthright Israel will allow participants to use their Birthright Israel deposit towards the payment of the program fee. 

Extending On Your Own- If you want to extend on your own, you must visit our travel agency’s website (Gil Travel) and check Birthright Israel icon to obtain full details and apply for the extension. https://www.giltravel.com/welcome-birthright-israel

Neither Birthright Israel nor Amazing Israel are involved in your extension. Neither group is responsible for changes that are or are not made for your return flight. These changes are made on your own accord. All extensions prior to departure from North America are made through our partner agents at Gil Travel (unless you’re extending through a Birthright Israel Plus program).

If you need to cancel their return flight once in Israel, participants need to reach out to the airlines directly. If they know prior to the trip that they will not be returning on the flight back to the US from Israel, they must let Amazing Israel know 20 days prior to the trip that they’ll be canceling the return trip.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When considering departure from Israel on a different flight other than the group’s return flight, please take into account that the group will depart to the airport together at the end of the trip. Please make sure you book a flight that leaves AFTER the group flight. Check your itinerary for the final departure time to the airport on the last day of the trip or contact us at registration@amazingisrael.com for more information.

It is the participants’ responsibility to contact the airline if they are not flying on the original or new extended return date. Participants who are no-show to the airline risk having their return ticket NULL and VOIDED. The return flight ticket will be cancelled and it will be the participant’s responsibility and expense to return home. Additionally, the participant’s deposit will not be refunded.

Gil Travel’s Birthright Israel Trip Extensions Please check the above link for procedures, deadlines and airline cost for extensions (as well as changes to flight rules!) You as the traveler must ensure that you are in possession of a valid passport with an expiration date of 6 months or more from the intended extended return date. Please review your airline’s specific requirements and fees and be mindful of travel days when selecting your travel request dates. Some airlines fly on Friday nights and Saturdays out of Israel. It is highly recommended that extensions be arranged prior to departure as the seats are limited, subject to availability, contract specifications, and specific class of service determined by the airlines. Some fees may seem lower after the departure but the availability of seats are limited, not guaranteed and the process is time consuming to finalize once in Israel. There are seat limitations for our class of service in economy due to our special airfare. Change or cancellation of return must be done prior to the date scheduled to return.

 

EL AL Israel Airlines:

  • Maximum stay is 3 months
  • Stopover is not permitted
  • Extension prior to departure is minimum USD 165.00 subject to seat availability in the same class/code fare of service. If the original class code/fare is not available and a higher airfare is available, fee is difference in airfare plus USD 90.00.
  • Change of return date once in Israel is $50.00 service fee for a seat in the same class/code fare of service. If the same class/code fare in economy is not available then the charge will be the service fee of $50.00 plus the difference to the next available seat in economy.
  • Changed is based upon availability at the time requested.

Brussels Airlines:

  • Maximum stay is 90 days.
  • Extension prior to departure is USD 165.00 subject to seat availability in the same class/code fare of service. If the original class/code fare is not available the difference to the next higher airfare may apply plus fee of USD 90.00
  • Once in Israel the change of return fee is USD 75.00 subject to seat availability in the same class/code fare of service. If the original class/code fare is not available, the differnce to the next higher airfare may apply plus fee of USD 75.00.
  • Extensions permitted for 65% per group.
  • Once in Israel contact Brussels Airlines directly:

Air Canada

  • Maximum stay is 90 days.
  • Stopover is not permitted. Valid on flights AC084/AC085 only.
  • Extension prior to departure USD 390.00 subject to seat availability in the same class/code fare of service.
  • Change of return date once in Israel is USD 300.00 subject to the seat availability in the same class/code fare of service. If the original class/code fare is not available, the difference to the next higher airfare may apply plus fee of USD 300.00.
  • Change permitted once in Israel.
